Caol Ila

Pronounced "Kul-EE-lu"

I guess this one got a bit lost in the Islay whiskies, but then again, I can only drink as much.
As the Caol Ila distillery lies more to the north of the island, it is not as heavily peated. It's still a very, very decent dram.

Caol IlaThe most popular one is the 12-year-old.

But I've tasted special bottles too.

I also read that Caol Ila is heavily used in blends such as Johnnie Walker. Just so you'd know.
